Default Everyone BUT your boss respects you...

I am a Network Administrator (IT dept) at a small hospital. My boss at one time went to me for everything and thought I did a great job... Now after overloading me with work that is not even close to my job description, all she does is complain about how I can not get things done on time and that my priorities are wrong. Apparently helping people in the clinics, her boss and her boss's boss is not a priority. She places emphasis on helping the customer but in the same breath chastises me for not fixing some silly document that she does not want to do. Everyone in the hospital name requests me to handle their problems and respects the excellent work that I perform. The boss says the reason it looks like I get more work than others is because I don't see everything that they do. This is funny, because half my work is fixing what they screwed up or showing them how to fix it to begin with.

I am at my wits end and the only alternative I see is to quit. Anyone have a suggestion??

I would at least say get your resume up to date and look for the right job.

I'm in the same boat and I'm planning on upping my skills while here and shopping for the right job.

In the mean time I would make her set your priorities, that's her job after all -- to manage.

I did send her a list of everything that i was doing and asked for them to be prioritized. Guess what response I got... zip, zero, nada, nothing...not even a laugh.

Bring it up next time she has something else to add to the list - ask her which priority it is over the list.

I think your BOSS is the one who's not doing his job well...
Your job is like guessing the right thing to do...
